Dr. John Mulcahy, Expert in Urology

John J. Mulcahy, MD, MS, PhD, FACS received his undergraduate training at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA and completed his medical degree at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

After an internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City, he began urology training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. This was interrupted by graduate studies at the University of Michigan where he received a Ph.D. degree in Physiology. He returned to the Mayo Clinic and completed the urology residency, also earning a Master's Degree in urology from the University of Minnesota.

After four years as an Assistant Professor of Surgery (Urology) at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Mulcahy came to Indiana University where he has been for the past 21 and is a Professor of Urology. His major interests are urinary incontinence and male sexual dysfunction and he has authored numerous book chapters and articles in these areas.

He is President of the Society for the Study of Impotence and is Co-Chairman of the Sexual Function Council of the American Foundation for Urologic Diseases. He is on the editorial boards of Contemporary Urology, Family Urology and Urology Times.
