Stephanie Chisolm, Ph.D., M.Ed.

     Stephanie Chisolm received her PhD in Health Education/Health Promotion from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2000. A creative, engaging and accomplished public health educator, Dr. Chisolm has an extensive background in urologic, sexuality, and reproductive health issues.               She is experienced in designing, administering and managing community and national programs and promotions for patients and health care professionals. As the Director of Education and Programs for the American Urological Association Foundation, she created and implemented train-the-trainer programs, a national prostate screening program for former NFL players, online prostate health risk assessments , a professional Urology Health resource center and the National Urology Health Line call center.

Dr. Chisolm was an Assistant Professor in the Health Science Department at James Madison University for six years, teaching the introductory “Foundations of Health Science” and many other courses to students interested in the wide array of health careers described her 2007 Jones & Bartlett text, Health Professions: Trends and Opportunities in US Health Care. As an academic advisor, Dr. Chisolm worked with students to find professional paths that fit their talents, abilities and desire to help others in the health field.

Dr. Chisolm has created a variety of patient and professional education materials and activities addressing specific topics across the health and wellness spectrum. She has authored a number of student and patient focused books. She has grant writing and stewardship experience with private foundations, industry funding and state government organizations.
