A baby girl was born on Friday, Feb 5th, Zoe Raquel. 6llb 14oz and 19 1/4 inches long, and all is well. Healthy, adorable and HUNGRY! I had a c-section and she couldn't wait until my breast milk came in, so we had to supplement. With my first, he was able to wait the 4 days, and he only got cranky the last day. NOT with this one...she couldn't wait 24 hours. And, I was planning on breastfeeding only. Now, we are bresatfeeding only during the day and bresatfeeding and giving a little extra formula at night, and so far, she is sleeping 4-4 1/2 hours stretches at night, so we decided to continue on this route.
As my 17 month old boy...at first he was fascinated and just kept saying, "BABY, BABY". Now, he is starting to realize that 'baby' is here to stay, and showing some signs of jealousy. Not bad, YET??
As for the c-section. I was more present at this one, bc we planned it...my OB said that what happened before will happen again. Basically NOTHING happened, even after they induced me, except exhaustion from 15 hours of intense labor, a swollen
cervix and the babies heart dropping!! This time I decided that the I couldn't go through the babies heart dropping and we planned FEb 5th. The aftermath has been pretty similar though...3 days of moderate to severe pain, and gradually each day has gotten better. I can finally stand up straight. My scar is not healing well, so the doc said to REALLY take it easy for another week. I tried walking 10 short NY blocks (to take Zoe to her first MD visit)....that didn't go so well. So I am home bound for another week.
OK..feeding time! Will give another update soon! Hang in there NEW mothers out there
