TOPIC: Alcohol and Erectil Dysfunction
#30925
Alcohol and Erectil Dysfunction 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I am a very moderate drinker usually only once or twice in a week (3-4 beers), but for some reason I drank 3 days in a row (3-5) beers daily and could not get an erection after drinking at the end of the third night, nevertheless I jacked off. It will be two weeks tomorrow and I am getting no day erections, I have not had any drinks since then.

Alcohol can be a factor in erectile dysfunction. A visit to your doctor to just have a check-up on your overall health might be a good idea.

It is possible that alchohol is the problem, but very improbable.
The idea of a checkup is not a bad idea, but you can save yourself that cost if you consider the below...
You don't mention your age, but I'm assuming that you are not under 21. Therefore, look to sleep, diet, nutrition and exercise. My guess is that you are deficient in one if not two of the above mentioned.
Having no "day erections" is normal over a certain age. If you are 16, that is abnormal. If you are over 40 that is normal. You don't say enough about your condition to really help you other than your fixation with the booze has gone to your head--literally. If you keep it up, you will create a mental block in which you will be guaranteed sex failure because you are programming it into your head now. This might not be a bad thing--it will save you money that you would normally spend on booze, but that's not fun.

Sounds like a simple case of obsessing over a non-problem. Maybe easier said than done, but don't worry about it and the problem will likely solve itself.

Priam1, I disagree with your implication that it is not normal to have day erections over the age of 40. I suspect it's normal for a healthy man to have them into his 50's and 60's, and perhaps beyond. In one of your other posts, you seem to paint a picture of precipitous male sexual decline around age 40. Total baloney. Perhaps true in an individual case, in which case I would suggest a visit to the doctor.

Alcohol is long regarded as a risk factor for erectile dysfunction. A handful of studies have documented the harmful effects of chronic alcohol consumption on sexual functioning but hardly any study found potential beneficial effects of alcohol on erectile dysfunction.
