His and Her Health

i've been reading all the entries and haven't come across one that is similar to my own story yet. i am 34 female. had a partial hysterectomy at 29. only my ovaries were left. for about 2 years i thought i was having pain due to bladder infections. i have a dull cramp that is always there and a sharp pain that comes maybe once a month. i can compare it to glass ripping through my body. after an ultrasound my family dr. (who is female) told me that i hadve a cyst that is 5 1/2 cm x 8 1/2 cm on my left ovary. she said the intense pain i've been experiencing has probably been from when i ovulate as the egg passes through the cyst. 1 week later i saw my gyn. ( a man who delivered my son, performed a tubal ligation after he was born and did my hysterectomy) he told me that he wasn't that worried about it and he could barely feel it when he did an internal exam. i expected, before the appt. that he would just schedule a surgery and remove it or my left ovary...i didn't really care. he chose instead to treat it with Lupron. i just got my first shot on wednesday jan 29, 2008. now i am reading horror stories from others who have taken lupron. i am wondering if there are any other women out there who have had a hysterectomy but have still been treated afterwards with lupron for the cysts. thank you to all those who answer
