TOPIC: Vaginal irritation
#18571
Vaginal irritation 6 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi Doc.
I am 36 yr. old and am 4 mos. pregnant with my first child. Since March on or about my conception, I've been experiencing mild vaginal irritation; however, if i have sexual intercourse with my husband, it's not so pleasureable. It painful upon his entry. After having intercourse, my inner vaginal area becomes even more irritated and that's when my urine only seems to burn; however, when I urinate, it feels heavy (pressure/sensitive). I've tried using ky jelly when having sex, but it does not help. When i made my first visit to my Gyn/Ob in March (before I or he knew I was pregnant), he did a pap and prescribed boric acid in a capsule and 1 diflucan. I did not fill prescription -- missed my period so I decided to take a pregnancy test and it was positive. On second visit to let my doctor confirm pregnancy, I mentioned to him that in addition to my vaginal area being chaffed and irritated so it my clitoris (too sensitive) when touched. He prescribed metorogel for 7 days; however, on the 9th day, when i urinated it started burning and for one day only began to itch. I made an appointment with him again and told him of the outcome and he said its normal in pregnant women and that i should use any over-the-counter products (e.g. monistat, gynelotrim, etc.) and it should go away. I asked him if it could be vestibulitis or vulvadynia -- he said no. I asked him to do a culture -- he said there won't be findings. I visited another gyn and she said I have a combination of vestibulitis and yeast infection. She prescribed Terazol to treat yeast first and then deal with vestibulitis later. I am afraid to take any more products since I'm pregnant and neither one of these doctors does not seem to want to do any cultures. Can you advise me what to do? I read on your website there's a vulovaginal center in New York on 43rd Street. Can you please give me a telephone # or recommend me to a doctor who specializes in vaginal/ vulva infections? My symptoms as I write to you are as follows: no itching, no odor, discharge is white, cottage cheese (not very thick), only light pressure when urinating.
Desperate mother to be needs referral or answers.
Princesskut
