Hi everyone,
Well, I have read some of the old posts, and I can see many of you are suffering like I am. I am 26 and I have been actively fighting this pain since I first became sexually active at 21. This pain has changed my life in so many ways. It all started with the first diagnosis, endometriosis. I had a laparoscopy and had several extensive endometrial lesions removed. I did 6mths of Lupron and premarin. I thought that was the end of it. A yr later I complained to the doctor again, had another laparoscopy with no relief. I was then told I had vulvar vestibulitis. I was sent to physical therapy, I was given lidocaine injections, I took anticonvulsants, tricyclic antidepressants, I did accupuncture...You name it, I've done it. Just this last yr I began having bladder symptoms. I had a cystoscope done and I was told I had IC. Went to a new OB a month ago. He suspects BC pills have thinned out my tissue and made it sore. He put me on an estrogen cream and wants me to go to physical therapy which I am NOT doing again. My thought at this point is that I want surgery. He brought up the idea of a partial vestibulectomy. I only have pain with intercourse and it's at the 6 o clock position. The area constantly tears and becomes raw. It feels bruised. I want to know more about this surgery and if any of you have had some success.
