You mentioned muscles in urogenital triangle in one of your posts- what are the names of those muscles.

I, too have urinary burning and was diagnosed with PFD. Can you please tell me which muscles may be hypertonic or which muscles would cause the urinary burning

thank you

would these muscles being hypertonic cause the paraurethral muscles to be tight?

thank you

These are 2 separate areas. They don't have to have a 1 on 1 relationship.

It was recommended that I do pt for PFD which I do have, but the more severe of the two issues is the piercing, knife-like pain I am experiencing at the right and left sides of my vestibule (bottom).

When I leave pt, the pain is so intense, I literally feel this horrible, throbbing burn the entire nite.
I know this cannot be good for my muscles, which I am certain are bracing themselves against the pain. Even my jaw is tight from the pain, so I know my PF is probably a mess due to this pain.

Question is: How can you go to pt when the exterior pain is too painful? Do you have women like this and what are they doing to alleviate this pain? Also, when I urinate, the urine going across the skin- burns like acid. I have to think the exterior pain is causing my muscles to spasm (btw, the muscle spasm aren't that painful, when touched they are tight- but nothing compared to this external, knife-like pain).

thank you

sarah, are you working with a doctor on this exterior pain? some women use ice to relieve some burning. you may be irritated also from the lubricant the PT uses? Have you tried olive oil?

My doctor recommended pt for this pain. Im confused as pt is making the pain worse in this area.
This seems more like nerve pain. The pain is at the opening of my vagina on both right and left sides, its the worst pain ever. Feels like I am being cut there. Have you had women with this problem and if so, what has helped them. All that was recommended was pt. Also, when I urinate, the urine touching the skin produces a hot burning sensation

pudendal nerve 4 Days, 6 Hours ago Karma: 12
I read that once someone receives botox into the pelvic floor muscles, the pudendal nerve needs to regenerate, is this accurate? Does this effect the nerve?

thank you
