TOPIC: Excluded from wife's gyn care
#25154
Excluded from wife's gyn care 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Wife went to er during miscarriage. They decided to do a d/c as there was no reason not to. At that point I left to call her Mom to inform her. When I got back the door was locked and they wouldn't let me back in for the procedure. She was asleep on and off upon arrival.I was a state licensed paramedic at the time and handled most of wife's er treatment prior to admittance. I feel they excluded me from being with her during a most traumatic time for the both of us. They also had wife sign procedure permission form while under going under anesthesia.Thoughtless...
As a result of our treatment, I gave up Emed license and have very little trust for hospitals or esp Gyns.

Did you have a question? Why would you give up your license or distrust all hospitals and gyns because of a single unfortunate incident? Have you taken this up with the hospital administration to find out why it happened? Did they confirm any kind of policy or was it a mistake?

I certainly understand how traumatic it must have been for you. I had a miscarriage too. If it's very recent, give yourself time to grieve. It's a genuine loss. Hopefully in time you'll be less bitter. A lifetime of you and your wife supporting each other can't be undone by single incident.

Yes, reported them to the state Health board and they had some bad feedback from the state. Not sure what. Don't care really.Just really disillusioned.
