TOPIC: Worried about possible genital warts

Worried about possible genital warts 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey,

First off I just want to say that I appreciate that this kind of question is asked quite frequently, and the best way would for me to a clinic but wanted some advice first. I'm a 19 year old male so a little embarassed about going to a clinic.

Basically about 10 months ago on holiday, I had sex with a girl and stupidly never wore a condom (which I regret!). So after that, I felt a little weird down 'there'. My sperm was very clear and the skin on my penis head started to peel. Anyway, that soon stopped after a week or so after my holiday and I just thought it was down to the fact that I hardly ate and drank a lot during the holiday.

But now, 10 months on, there is a red mark on my penis head, you can feel it when you run your finger on it but it doesn't hurt as such but can sometimes be itchy? I've had sex a few times with the same girl since but I wore a condom each time so I know it's nothing to do with that. I thought it might just be caused by a reaction to my soap as I've been using a different product recently.

Obviously it's quite hard to tell over the internet but just wondering if that could be herpes? even though it's 10 months on since I had unprotected sex?

Any help will be much appreciated, thank you

I've already said about that if you actually read my post. I just want some advice from here before I do anything.

Thanks.

I did read your post and my advice is exactly the same. No one here can diagnose your problem. It's the type of thing a doctor needs to look at.

Get over your embarrassment about going to a clinic. You're an adult now and need to be responsible about taking care of your body. Taking your body (and all its parts) to clinics is one of the things you just have to deal with.

Fair enough. My main issue was the fact that it's happened 10 months after I had un-protected sex, is that normal? thanks

Anyone?

My skin has started itching recently, including around my 'bits'. I wash thoroughly everyday but started to use a different shower gel, could this have anything to do with it?

hi ! any update about your health status ? If you are sexually active it is most recommended to have a regular std testing with the health professionals for proper monitoring.

There are two general types of herpes viruses:

Herpes simplex virus-1 - Manifests itself through blisters around the mouth area
Herpes simplex virus-2 - causes lesions and sores in the genital and anus area.

Lesions appear in the mouth and genital area. In men, the sores appear on the penis itself or around it. In women, lesions will appear outside or inside the vagina. This is usually accompanied by uncomfortable vaginal discharge.

Other signs of genital herpes infection include fever, muscle pain, headaches, painful urination, vaginal discharge and swollen lymph glands. Lesions develop three to seven days after being exposed to the virus.

If infected with genital herpes it is better to stay away from sunlight as much as possible. Too much exposure to the sun can irritate the skin further. Unscented bath and hygiene products should be used during treatment. A patient should wear loose clothing made of natural fabric such as cotton. Medications such as ibuprofen and aspirin can be taken to lessen the pain. Patting the irritated skin with cool, clean cloth can also soothe pain and discomfort. Infected persons should always wash their hands all the time and they should avoid touching the mouth or the eyes after touching the sores.

STD symptoms are rarely noticed until they are so obvious that you cannot notice them. Waiting until you show any STD symptoms can do more harm to your health than getting tested regularly for STDs. With the way the economy is today, your health is the one area of your life that you need to invest into. If you are sexually active, even if it is with the same partner, it is recommended that you get tested for the 6 most common sexually transmitted diseases and infections. This will help promote honesty within relationships and can possibly cut down on infidelity. When it comes to your health, don’t be at risk of not knowing, or knowing too late. I hope this will help you know more about this particular STD. Thanks!
