TOPIC: Self exam for public lice
#31047
Self exam for public lice 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
A few days ago I got a message from a recent sexual partner, saying he had found public lice and I should get checked. I have examined myself thoroughly and have found no signs of adult lice or nits, and I am not experiencing any itching. It has been a week and a half since I would have been exposed. Is it possible at this point that I might have them and not be able to detect them? Should I schedule a doctor's visit anyway, just to be certain?

Mature lice could take up to 3 weeks to be seen. Intense itching would show up earlier. It might be a good idea to get a check up by your doctor.
