TOPIC: Recurring Chlamydia
#31233
Recurring Chlamydia 7 Months ago Karma: 0
3 months ago I got chlamydia from a new female partner who I am still with. She showed no symptoms and had no idea until I started showing signs about 2 months after we started having unprotected sex. My symptoms were penile discharge and a slight burning/itching sensation.

We were both treated at an urgent care with Zithromax (1 dose) and a shot in the butt for gonorrhea (recommended by the doc to be safe, i forget what it was) and after about 2 weeks everything was completely healed for me.

We followed strict condom use for 4 months, meanwhile she was tested for chlamydia again and came out negative. I was not tested as I didn't show any signs which were very acute before.

We deemed it safe to have unprotected sex again and 2 weeks later I am now showing signs just like I did before. I was fine for the last 4 months of protected sex, does this mean that my parter was falsely deemed negative when she in fact was still infected? We are exclusive partners.

Any thoughts?

ztb, did you go back to your doctor for retesting to see if you were clear of the infection? To be sure you both are now testing negative do a follow-up at the doctors.

Even though symptoms of chlamydia are usually mild or absent, serious complications that cause irreversible damage, including infertility, can occur "silently" before a woman ever recognizes a problem. I believe you need to goo to see your health provider to take away those worries.

STD symptoms are rarely noticed until they are so obvious that you cannot notice them. Waiting until you show any STD symptoms can do more harm to your health than getting tested regularly for STDs. With the way the economy is today, your health is the one area of your life that you need to invest into. If you are sexually active, even if it is with the same partner, it is recommended that you get tested for the 6 most common sexually transmitted diseases and infections. This will help promote honesty within relationships and can possibly cut down on infidelity. When it comes to your health, don’t be at risk of not knowing, or knowing too late.

Hope this will help you... Thanks!
