TOPIC: masturbation brain fog
#31354
masturbation brain fog 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Please believe what I am sharing is real and not imagined. I am a 50-year-old man, and for about 20 years, I have had what I call brain fog, but I only get it when I have erotic stimulation by myself.
The symptoms are a great decrease in my mental sharpness, intellect, ability to communicate clearly, cognitive thought process and a feeling of paranoia that those around me sense something is different. I do, at times, have people ask me if everything is allright, etc.
When my head is clear, I am sharp and a business professional. But I have always had a high sense of erotic desire, and have turned to masturbation at times for pleasure. Whether I orgasam or not, I will always get brain fog, and it usually lasts for two or three days. What is unusual is that if I have sex with my wife, I do not get brain fog at all.
I do not want to get into the psychological or moral issues, but rather, please if anyone can help me, I am certain the reason i get this is an imbalance in the chemicals associated with pleasure and my brain. Please help if anyone is familiar with this problem and is certain of what might help.

Thank you

dudeman, since your "brain fog"occurs only when you have masturbated there may be an underlying physical condition . Maybe a visit to your doctor for a check up would be a good start, and please tell the doctor about the brain fog.

How does your body know to react so differently between your hand and a vagina? What could possibly be chemically different between the two? Unless you're talking pheromones or something like that, which is not medically proven to any solid degree that I've heard of, this has got to be psychological. Certainly all our emotions have a chemical basis, so you can argue semantics here, but I don't think the trigger is chemical, since that is hard to explain.

The fact that you mention NOT wanting to talk about psychological or moral issues seems to already suggest you know the answer and don't want to hear it. In my personal opinion, your wording in "having turned to masturbation AT TIMES for pleasure" sounds somewhat apologetic, as if you have some guilt around it. I would never word it that way. I frankly turn to masturbation WHENEVER I FEEL LIKE IT, and have no guilt whatsoever. And certainly no brain fog. In fact, it puts me at ease as I no longer have to be so preoccupied with sexual fantasies and my physical urge.

So I think you have guilt issues, and a talk therapist might help. But I get the feeling that's not what you want to hear.
