hot flashes

I am 24 (25 next week) and I have always had very painful periods. However, a few years ago I started getting hot flashes when I have my periods. Is this normal? <P>Also, my periods are very irregular. I will sometimes go over 6months without one. I've been on the pill because of it, but since I had a breast lump when I was 21, and felt blood clots in my legs a few months ago, I decided to get off the pill and use Blue Cohosh instead.
