question for Dr. Goldstein

I am 31, married, 12yr old twins(via c-section)I have been diagnosed with Chronic Pelvic Pain. I have 4 Fibroid Tumors, scar-tissue out the ying-yang, Painful intercourse(sometimes) Pain after intercourse(always), every month...(atleast once)I have a severe Pelvic Inflammitory Disease flar-up. I want not more children, but the Doc I am seeing now will not do a Hysterectomy on me. He wants me to take the Depo shot. Could there be any benifit to my doing that versis the Hysterectomy? besides the obvious of not having to go through surgery. I am just trying to find out where the Docs head is at He either wants me on birthcontrol pills or on the shot...I have Migraines, therefor can't take the pills...I would LOVE to be able to be normal again! I can't be a wife to my husband and that is KILLING me....Please help......Thank you Angela

Please Disreguard this question! I have been scheduled to have a partial Hysterectomy done on 02/03/04 at 7am Thank you for your time...Angela
[This message has been edited by missann (edited 27 January 2004).]

Re: question for Dr. Goldstein

Hey Missann,
Great to see you back here. You have been a great help to others on this board. I hope you find the help you need. Best of luck with the partial hysterectomy. From what I read, the recommendations of people on here would be that you would get a second opinion & find out all about the surgery before you get it.
Good luck.

Re: question for Dr. Goldstein

Hello Mavis, Thank You for your well wishes. The surgery went great. I really had no choice but to have it done. I had a c-section with my children and because of it I was having the lining of the uterus grow into the muscle of it....that is why I was having the pain I was...Thank you for your concern..Angela
