Re: Estratest - overuse/overdose

I,<P>This has understandably been a very traumatic experience for you, as it would have been for me. Is it possible the sensation is there, but you have been emotionally traumatized by your experience that you aren't yet allowing yourself to feel the good feelings? I only ask this because I recall you saying that you actually do have feeling there. Maybe I misunderstood you. However, if what I said is a possibility, it should give you hope and help you see a silver lining.<P>A supplement to the Mayo Clinic Proceedings was just published. The entire supplement is devoted to the appropriate use of androgen therapy for women and to clarify its potential benefits and risks in clinical practice. The supplement is sponsored by Solvay, the maker of Estratest, so you have to take this into consideration when reading the articles. Still, there is some useful basic information in it. One of the articles is titled, "Safety and Adverse Effects of Androgens: How to Counsel Patients". From that article:<P>"Frank virilization (clitorimegaly, male pattern balding, and voice changes), rare with low-dose androgens, has been reported with high-dose androgens. In a study by Urman et al, Climacteron was given to 9 postmenopausal women. Eight women reported cosmetically disturbing hirsutism, 7 experienced clitorimegaly, and 1 reported temporal balding."<P>So your experience with clitorimegaly is documented in the literature. What is not documented is the loss of sensation.
