ache after intercourse,NOT a UTI

I have ache- not really pain- it is like that sensation one experiences when they have a UTI, but the tests at the Dr's are all negetive- I have been to a Urologist- he did not offer any remedy- this disrupts my regular life- the Drs have said it is more of a muscle strain- has anyone experienced this and what is the remedy for RELIEF?

Re: ache after intercourse,NOT a UTI

Hello:
It would be helpful to know a little more about this before offering an opinion.
Please describe how long it lasts, just where in your pelvis you feel it, and whether there are any other sensations that are a part of it- like a discharge, or bleeding. Does it happen only after sex in certain positions? How long have you had this problem, and is it worse during your cycle?
Have you had prior gynecologic problems?

Re: ache after intercourse,NOT a UTI
I have had a hysterectomy (1999)
The 'feeling' maybe better described as a sensation....feels like I have a UTI
I have not had any sexual relations for thre weeks and this 'bout' has not diminished- so now I not sure it is tied to that. actually I have started to refer to it as my chronic UT condition- and this as a flare up
no bleeding- no discharge
I took days off work last week- I feel better if I lay down with my feet up and simply do nothing but rest. The feeling-ache- whatever we call it seems to increase after voiding.
The urologist gave me a presecription- I cannot for the life of me think of the nane right now- the little red pills for UTI's- he said these would relax my muscles-and give me relief..... these no longer provide any relief
I am 53 years old and have had many UTI's.I also have IBS
While generally the pain has been located at the base of the pelvic area-last week I also experienced some back pain.
I am going to see my GP again tomorrow- she is not sure what to do anymore.....

quote:
Originally posted by Dr. Bruce:
Hello:
It would be helpful to know a little more about this before offering an opinion.
Please describe how long it lasts, just where in your pelvis you feel it, and whether there are any other sensations that are a part of it- like a discharge, or bleeding.
