TOPIC: Depo-Provera,

7 years, 7 months ago #24662

Depo-Provera,

I have done my research on birth control. But I still have unanswered medical questions. My current Doctor was no help. I am 26 years old, and was in a car accident at the age of 19. During that time I threw a clot into my lungs, it was never determined if the clot was a blood clot or a fatty embolus, probably thrown from my fractured femur. No history of heart or circulatory conditions before or since the accident. This makes me unable to use "The Pill," but does it limit me from using Depo-Provera? I do not want condoms to be my only from of birth control. Does anyone know where I can get some detailed medical information? I don't want to wait months on end while my doctor "looks into it."
Thank you,
LazyEeyor

Re: Depo-Provera,

try some of these sites. other then that you might want to have an indepth conversation with your doctor about it. there are some defaults to it as well.
www.plannedparenthood.org/bc/depoforyou....lt;/A>
at the same time one of the well known defaults that my bestfriend had was that she was on depo perovera, she managed to get her period for almost nine months straight until her doctor finally took her off of it. depos not for everyone. in my case after i got off of it, i didn't get my period for almost 2 years. hope i helped a little
