Hi, I am 26 years old and have a 3yr old son and been married for 6 years. Before I ever had kids I had a c cup, then after i had my son, my breasts are completely gone. I was considering getting breast implants, because my self esteem has completly shot through the floor. I have yet to talk to a doctor about the risks involved, or if I should even consider having them done. I would really like to have my self esteem back. I think that its starting to take effect on my marriage. I feel like I am unattractive, so I am always thinking that my husband is looking at other women maybe because I am not attractive to him anymore. He thinks that I would be happier if I got my breast done. Although he assures me that either way it doesnt matter to him. Please help!!!<BR>I would like to know the risks of having them done, is it worth it??

Hi,<P>I do not have breast implants but I have read A LOT about the idea........<P>Some things to consider: are you planning to have another child? If so, perhaps waiting until after that child's birth comes and goes may be a good idea.......<P>Breast augmentation is major surgery with all the risks that go along with that plus specific conditions that pertain to that particular type of surgery, i.e., capsular contracture: when the scar tissue around the implant slowly crushes it. I don't mean to scare you! .........<P>Many women report total loss of sensation in their nipples. So, let's say you have these marvelous big mammaries but you can't "enjoy" them as they were meant to be enjoyed (by you). .......<P>I recommend a website called beautyaddiction.com because it's real women posting about their surgeries. Very interesting! And the postings are not all negative. It could help you decide. There are so many decisions, too, with regard to this type of surgery: where do you want the scar? How big to go? ........<P>Just my 2 cents here: Your husband should curtail his viewing of other women when you're around. It sure can't be helping your self-esteem! I have been toying with this idea myself, I am 26 and have a 5 year old daughter, however, I am not in a relationship anymore, and find myself feelin inadequate on the "dating market" I dread having anyone see me naked, I too, had a good C cup before my daughter, breastfed, adn now have stretch-marks covering what is left of my not-so-perky breasts. In the shower, my daughter said "mom, why are your boobs all wrinkly?" (It was all the stretch marks.) I am still researching.
