cervicitis
I have seen 2 gyns since January and I would say had about a dozen visits. I had iunprotected intercourse with a new partner(boyfriend) Janruary 1st 2005. A few days later I thought i had the beginning stages of a yeast infection. Foul thick white discharge and chronic itching is what i experienced for two weeks. My gyn prescribed me metrogel but it didnt work. The she gave me diflucon and some other internal cream. Then a few days later the symptoms stopped. So i had what i thought was an episode of yeast. Also, I was on the pill and i thought it was causing the tingling feelings and slight itching i felt. She changed my prescription from othra-evra to yasmin. She didnt do a pap because i had just had a normal pap in June of 2004. She did a blood test for stds and they came back negative. This tingling/itching continued, it was very mild and finally i decided to see another gyn. She did a visual exam and saw nothing unusual, again I was told it was probably a yeast infection. I saw her again after using gynezol which did nothing for me, she did a pap smear and tests for bacterial infections. I was diagnosed with HPV high risk type becaues my pap came back abnormal. She did the exam to see if i had warts, but there were none. She prescibed me doxycyline and I took it twice a day for 10 days and for once the tingling and itching stopped completely. I was so happy. She did a colposcoby that day also and I got the results Thursday of last week. She said it was good news that i had chronic cervicitis because i was expecting her to say i had precancerous cell growth or something of that nature. She said if it came back again to use Clindisse she gave me a prescription and I asked what i should do about my boyfriend adn she said i shouldnt bother mentioning it to him and that there was nothing we could even if he had cervicitis. I researched online and it says both partners should be treated for it so i dont get reinfected again. The same day, being foolish, i had intercourse unprotected with my boyfriend. I mean the Gyn said nothing could be done and am i supposed to have protected sex while I'm in a long term relationship? Well , I believe I have reinfected myself because the next day i began to feel tingling again and slight itching. I finished the doxycyline 2 days after but i guess it didnt cure the re-infection.
The other day I noticed again a thick white foul discharge, I had painful lower stomache pains and when i sat down, they hurt. I took midol which helped, I dont expect my period for 2 weeks so I dont know if these were cramps or pains from cervicitis. i also feel itchy in my anal area, and I dont know if this is from cervisitis in the anal area, if thats even possible. I dont know what to do at this point, how does this cervisitis go away, and how do i know when it is cured? does my boyfriend need to be treated for it? If i had been treated for it in january when i first had the symptoms, would it not be a chronic cervisitis now? The gyn never mentioned the word dysplasia to me but do i have it anyway? I stopped the pill, is it safe to take it when it can cause cervical cancer? The 2nd gyn said it take about 2 years and the hpv will cure itself and i'll be okay. What does she mean and is she right? But if my boyfriend has HPV too which i am pretty sure i got from him, every time we have sex, I'll be exposed to it again. How does this all affect childbirth one day, I am only 20 years old now. When should i consider surgery for cervicitis? Also, once a woman is exposed to cervisitis or high risk hpv, how long til you feel symptoms?
