His and Her Health

I apologize if this topic has been covered before.<P>I recently began experiencing some discomfort in the vaginal area.<P>It started right after I wore a pair of jeans that were a little too tight in the crotch area.<P>I am also wondering if I may have accidently cut my labia when I was shaving.<P>When I looked down there, I discovered that my left (only the left) side inner labia was swollen so bad that it was protuding way past my outer labia. <P>The top part of it is sore and its very painful to even walk sometimes.<P>It does not burn when I urinate and the discomfort I feel is strictly from the enlarged labia.<P>Once this happens, is it permanent or will it go away on its own?<P>Is it a yeast infection on the outside?<P>Treatment?<P>I appreciate your input...<BR>

Today I found out what was causing my enlarged inner labia. <P>It is exactly what Dr Goldstein had said to another women in a different post.<P>I remember reading something Dr Goldstein said about the Bartholins gland - something about it getting blocked and causing the secretions to back up the the labia, therefore causing a cyst or abcess.<P>Well, I think what I have is an abcess.<P>Today when I got home, after a grueling day at work because of the pain I am in, I bent down to pick up something I dropped, and got a very nasty pain in the problem area.<P>Well, a minute later, I went to the bathroom to go pee, and I noticed blood in my panties.<P>I was thinking, "OH GREAT, now I have my period while I have THIS!"<P>Well, the blood was actually from the swollen inner lip that "busted".<P>The top part was oozing blood and pus - so disgusting. The more I pressed, the more it oozed out. There is a lot more in there, so of course, I am going to make an appointment with the gyno to get this taken care of.<P>I didn't mean to gross anybody out, I just wanted to give an update in case there was anybody else out there with the same problem.<P>Dr Goldstein really knows what he is talking about.
