Endometrial Biopsy

I have an Endomertial Biopsy scheduled in a few weeks and am scared to death. The problem being I just had a HSG and was told that procedure would be mild cramping although was given a valum, and percocet. There was nothing mild about this procedure & the meds did nothing to ease the pain. I was in excruciating pain and hyperventaling and could not breath.
so, I requested medicine for this upcoming biosy as well which my dr. said there was no need, but I am scared it will be just as painful. I was so scared yesterday I had to take a anti-anxiety pill. Also note I have not had kids yet. So, I hear this is more painful since they supposedly stretch your cervex.
E-mail me at
PLEASE, tell me the truth.
*Moderator's Note
Sorry doxinlover, we do not allow personal e-mail addresses to be posted. Re: Endometrial Biopsy

I had an endometrial biopsy in January. They gave me some sort of anesthetic shot before they began. The shot hurt really bad, and the procedure wasn't any better. I'm a big baby, though, when it comes to pain. I hurt and bled for several days after the procedure was done. I've had other people tell me it was no big deal, though. I guess everyone is different, so hopefully your procedure will be much better than mine was. Good luck, and best wishes!

Re: Endometrial Biopsy

I have had 3 endo biopsies. The first one I took a codene, the next two I found out while I was in the stirrups I was having one. It is a hard cramp for about 10 sec. You'll be fine. I had an HSG also and wasn't offered any pain meds. The endo biopsy is a LOT better than the HSG.
You'll be fine.
