spotting

I had my regular cycle and then 4 days later after my husband and i had intercourse i started spotting for 6 days, stopped for 2 days spotted again for 2 days. I am a 37 y/o and have had severe nights for over a year now intermittenly. could all this just be a sign of perimenopause? i called my gyno and he just said if it continues over a period of 3 months then call and make an appt.

Re: spotting

Hello Katz-

I'm not sure what you mean by having "severe nights" for over a year, but if you have unscheduled bleeding on more than two occasions, it's best to go in and be checked. Perimenopause does contribute to irregular bleeding, but we usually don't see that until a woman is in her mid-forties.
You'll feel better when you know what's going on.

Re: spotting

I am 43. I had spotting. I went to my GNY-had some tests done. The outcome was a D & C. Since they clean out the inside of me -no more problems.
