I had my tubes tied after my last child i didnt think i would ever want any more. well i met my husband when my youngest was 4 mo old. He has 1 child and at first he said thats all he wanted we had enough but lately it seems like hes changed his mind i know i have. ive looked into having my tubes untied but it seems scary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: tubal reversal

The procedure to "undo" the tubes is called a "tubal reversal." It is not covered by insurance (it's not a medical necessity by any definition) and requires specialized training to perform. In many instances, when given the statistics of successful pregnancy and the time required for recovery, couples now opt for In Vitro Fertilization. The best course of action is to consult with a fertility specialist and decide from there.
One additional note: this kind of dilemma is one reason we don't "tie tubes" without educating a woman about all of her choices in advance.
