Re: Abnormal bleeding
Bleeding is usually well-regulated and predictable on birth control pills. When they are stopped, the hormonal cycle may not become regular for a couple of months- which can cause some irregular bleeding. It is important to see your doctor if the flow is excessively heavy, painful, or associated with any other bothersome symptoms, like fevers or abnormal discharge. Remember, pregnancy can occur (and sometimes cause bleeding) immediately after stopping pills as well. Finally, if a woman's periods were irregular before starting the pill, they'll probably resume that habit once it's stopped.
