hysterctomy
I had a radical hysterectomy in January of this year. It was done with the bikini cut. The good thing is that I have no pain from the endometrosis anymore and my sex life is pleasant and enjoyable. The bad part has been the recovery.
My question is what should I expect? My doctor had told me that in 6-10 weeks I would feel great! I don't and it has been 6 months. My stomach is still sore to the touch. I have lost 30 pounds (10 prior to surgery and 20 since) and still wear the same pants.
I did great just after surgery and came home on time. I lost my balance in the shower and began falling backwards-but I did catch myself. This, however, cause severe pain and bruising. My bruise from the surgery was about the size of my hand and after the spell in the shower covered most of my stomach.
After surgery I had severe pain in the area of my gall bladder. I had tests because they said that sometimes estrogen will set off an iffy gall bladder. They came back fine, but the pain was persistant. It even hurt to put my arm on my side.
They did several other scans/tests and they discovered an internal bleed that had clotted in the size of a navel orange. However, this was more in the area of where my ovaries had been and on the oposite side. My doctors diagnosis for this was hot compresses. It was shrinking, but I was still hurting. It was about 3 months post-op and my doctor released me. I was crying I had so much pain and was still not able to go back to work to my regular job.
I thought time would fix it, but so far it has not. I am still hurting and feel that I have a bauched (sp?) surgery. Do any of you have any ideas? Have any of you had experiences such as these and is this normal?
Thanks for any insite!
msteapot
