Back for a visit w/ a question for siren

Dear siren,
Last month you suggested the 2mg/day dose of gel I was on was perhaps not enough. You said you had used a 6mg/day dose to get results. After a complete sobbing breakdown at the doctor the other day, I was given enough Testosterone to up my dose and experiment. My question is: On the way to where you are now, did you go through a period of estrogen dominant symptoms? After increasing my intake of T, I feel as if my breasts are starting to grow, indicating that the extra T I'm taking is being converted to estrogen, and increasing my levels of SHBG, creating the same problems with libido, etc. After upping my dosage, my libido actually receded. As I am premenopausal, I am not on any other HRT. Any extra estrogen in my system is unopposed by progesterone. What condition were your other hormones in when you finally got it right? Right now I feel like my only options are:
1. Take so much T that I finally get enough estrogen, stop converting, and have enough unbound left to function. This leaves me prog. deficient so I'd have to address that.
2. Go to a very low dose methyltest., which cannot be converted, small enough amounts not to significantly impact my liver, and hope that because it does not affect my other hormones - I will get results with low doses.
Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Re: Back for a visit w/ a question for siren

I would ask the compounding pharmacy to use methyl testosterone in your gel instead of the NATURAL, since it isn't specified on the rx usually, you shouldn't even need a new RX. It is only harmful to your liver if taken orally, but I don't see any reason to lower the dose, it isn't any stronger gram for gram than the other testosterone. It is also more fast acting. It sounds like you have a good handle on the situation, try that for a few months.

I didn't answer part of your Q. I* was menopausal and also IGNORANT. I had been going through all kinds of hormonal treatments from premarin ,prempro, estratest, the patch etc., when I finally went to the womens clinic where I was switched to The natural Hormones. I was going through so many changes at once, I can't tell if I experienced OVERESTROGENIZATION or not.
