Laparoscopy

OK, going in for a Lap on September 9th for unexplained pain. My uterus is retroflexed (bent in half) So my OBGYN is going to check to see what is going on underneath my uterus, which is where all of my pain is. Maybe endo, but she's not sure. Had utra-sound done and CAT scan done all came back normal.I will also be having my tubes tied at that time as well.( Have 3 kids, DO NOT want anymore, cant take pill or IUD) I have NEVER had surgery before so I am a bit scared. How bad is it when it's over ?? Will I be back on feet the next day ?? What questions should I ask ???? Any reply's from anyone to help ease my mind ?? Thank you - Rain

Re: Laparoscopy

Hi Rain,
Gentle hugs to you as you make your way through your ordeal.
Unfortunately, I have never had this type of procedure done, and I have no idea of what effects you may have.
Good luck, though!
Tracie

Re: Laparoscopy

Rain, hi i am new to this site and though i have never had gynocological surgery i have gone through several surgeries, my best advice to you is to have whoever is bringing you back home bring a big bottle of very cool water...anasthesia can very seriously dehydrate you and leave you feeling extremely nauseaus (or nauseated whichever is correct). the only other advice i can offer is take it easy on yourself, typically our bodies do not like to be tampered with so give yourself as much time as you need to recouperate.
I hope all goes well.
Yours,
Aimee

Re: Laparoscopy

I had a D&C years ago.I was exhausted afterwards for several days. Even found it hard to go up the stairs.

Re: Laparoscopy

Hello I responded to this once , but it seems I didnt put in the right password.
First- I wanted to thank those who posted to me. The surgery went well. Turns out after 3 years I'm not crazy after all!!!! My obgyn found endometriosis. All under my uters and also on my bladder. Some of you may remember my other problems with severe clitoral/labia shrinkage. I have NO bloodflow not just with sexual excitement, even in normal everyday. You how women have a shaft, right, even when it's not erect. I have no shaft at all. It's just flat. My blood tests of T came back normal, estorgen normal as well. I have tryed T cream and it did work and worked GREAT when it worked. I had a clitoris again ! Only for a short time within two weeks it shrunk back up again. I guess what I am wondering now is, could the endo cause problems like this. Could it cut bloodflow off that bad??? Any ideas ?? Thanks everyone. - Rain
