Hi everyone, I'm back!

I just HAD to give yet another update!!!
My hubby and I have decided that I'm going to go off all hormonal forms of BC and we've been using the FAM for about 3 weeks. My libido has gone through the roof!!!!!!!!!! A number of reasons for this:
- I openly discussed the entire issue with my hubby and he was totally understanding, supportive and wonderful. We decided as a couple that we didn't like me having synthetic hormones in my body, and so we decided together to switch! He's slowly learning about FAM, but right now, most of the charting and checking of symptoms rests on me, which is fine. He's asking questions as he feels comfortable.
- Diet - Zaneblue's diet/supplements MUST be helping! It's a lot of pills to take everyday, but I truly think it's healthier for my body, and also increases the libido.
- Exercise - my hubby and I still play tennis together or with another couple several times a week and it's great!
- Work - I still have the same job. But, I've also started teaching English at the local community college. I get tired sometimes, but doing something you love for work is really energizing, so I LOVE IT!
Anyway, you all were so caring, compassionate and helpful when I was having problems, that I wanted you all to know that I was a success story!
Thanks!
Tracie

Re: Hi everyone, I'm back!

I am so glad for you! But if by FAM you mean the sympto-thermal method, you can't just go on it, it takes a few months of training meeting once a month with a trained teacher to review your charts with you. If you don't get the right training, you probably will get pregnant! Use some sort of barrier birth control in the meantime; condoms are best as they don't interfere with the vaginal mucus.
[This message has been edited by zaneblue (edited 29 August 2003).]

Re: Hi everyone, I'm back!

Oh, yeah, Zane, don't worry! I'm a smart cookie and have been researching the subject to death, and while my body is settling down after the hormones, my hubby and I do NOT have unprotected sex, even on those "zero chance of pregnancy days".
Thanks for the concern, though, because a pregnancy right now would not be a great thing.
We are doing the sympto-thermal method. I've been charting my temp, checking my cervix position a few times every day, and evaluating the mucus production. I have an appt with a specialist in a week or two to evaluate my first month of charting.
Thanks!
Tracie
