creams, lotions, potions?

Hello,
I know you've covered this a million times..ye old low sex drive, but I'm wondering about these new creams they're advertsing on TV. You know the ones, the women are giggling, the husbands are hugging them. There seems to be a couple, one is called something like vromax??? I know that's not right but it's close. They are supposed to be herbal...no side effects, increase blood flow to the vagina and make you go running into the bedroom.
I'll give you history...have gone through a lot of changes and stress over the past two years. Oh heck, let's call it 6 years. Constant changes in life, family, location, careers. So I'm thinking it's related to that. Have not had my levels checked. In my late 30's. Not on any medication. No kids (born to me).
The thought of taking testosterone really sounds a bit scary. Not sure I want to mess with the inner workings of things. May try Zaneblue's thing about the dark chocolate. I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
Kay

Re: creams, lotions, potions?

I think those creams have their place (I prefer Zestra if you want to avoid that mentholated feeling), if you are feeling a drop in genital sensation. If you a just feeling a general drop in desire and interest, I don't think something like that will help much. My thing might (if you are spooked by the idea of testosterone); it involves a little more than chocolate. Here it is in its entirety.
First of all, no stimulants--no coffee, no tea, no cigarettes, no antidepressants (obviously do not go off of antidepressants to do this), no ginkgo or ginseng or any other herbal stimulant. And no hormonal birth control like birth control pills.
Second, eat a couple ounces of dark chocolate every day.
Third, vitamin supplements. Take a good multivitamin (with 15 mg of zinc) every day, extra 400 IU of vitamin E, extra C (I drink lots of orange juice), fish oil six grams, full load of calcium/magnesium/zinc (1000/400/15), and iron (check with your doctor about the iron). I take 27 mg of iron every other day. Do not take high-dose fish oil like this if you are on blood-thinning medication or aspirin therapy.
Fourth, exercise your PC muscles. Kegels are not enough. I recommend vaginal cone weights, work your way up to the fifth weight.
Fifth, try the Zone diet or the Atkins diet for meals before having relations.
