Your thoughts on specific types of vibrators.

It's been a very short time (two weeks or so) that I have been able to experience orgasm using a vibration device. I have noticed that, for the exception of a couple of times, it takes an extremely long time to climax, and sometimes it doesn't even happen at all. My question is are there any types of vibration devices others recommend that may alleviate some of the time and discomfort spent in order to achieve orgasm? I recently purchased an "egg", and attempted to use it last night, however, it was not effective at all. Even with five different types of vibration speeds. I don't want to waste any more money on personal items that I can't return if dissatisfied, so I'm reaching out to the community for your thoughts and suggestions.
* MODERATOR'S NOTE
Go to the NEWSHE.com front page and type vibrator in the search box for an article and more info.

[Note: This message has been edited by NEWSHE Moderator]

Re: Your thoughts on specific types of vibrators.

If you require powerful stimulation, you should invest in a plug-in-the-wall vibrator. The battery-powered ones (like eggs) are not strong enough. I highly recommend the Eroscillator. Hitachi Magic Wands are also good, the general standard.
I'm sure others here will have input on this topic.

Re: Your thoughts on specific types of vibrators.

Thanks, zaneblue, so much for your reply. I've looked into the Eroscillator, and have only been able to find it online. I also found the Hitachi Magic Wand at a local adult store, and plan to purchase one in the near future. The egg I purchased, however, seems to be pretty strong too. Thing is, I was told by the salesperson that it is to be held directly on the clitoris to be effective. This is not, however, effective for me, and causes discomfort and/or numbness. I've only had it a few days now, and have tried it in-as-many days to no avail. Do you think it would be worth still trying it, or just chucking it? I can't return it to the store, obviously, but it did cost me more money than I can just shrug off.

LateInTheGame
I know this isn't your question, and I'm not trying to hound or cajole, but given the "symptoms" you're describing, I think you *may* have diminished sensation. I'd strongly recommend that you work to find an FSD expert to work with you on this...
But, given that - I'd not toss the egg just yet. If you do have sensation issues and they are resolved, you may find what seems like a "defective" product isn't. You might find that sometime in the future, you like it just fine. (I know that's been our experience.)
Best wishes,
Greg
------------------
See the icons at the top of this post for my profile and more information.
Also note, I am *not* a doctor, and this is not intended as medical advice - Please talk to your doctor about your concerns.

Re: Your thoughts on specific types of vibrators.

A stronger vibrator may help you come faster before numbness sets in, unless the egg feels uncomfortable even at the very start. You said you had success orgasming with a device already--what sort was it?

Zaneblue: It was a clitoral stimulator. Also a regular vibrator.
Re: Your thoughts on specific types of vibrators.

acctually I think it's possible she may be reciving too much stimulation. I know that too much activity on my clitoris can acctually cause sorness. One thing I do sometimes is to pull my labia over my clitoris. Creating a soft fleshy barrier, then try simulating myself either with fingers or a vibrator. I can go a lot longer and it's quite enjoyable.
I have diffculty reaching orgasm, it doesn't always happen and when it does it's only after my partner has stimulated me for a very long time. For some reason I VERY rarely achive orgasim on my own, but I continue to masturbate just to enjoy the sensuality and pleasure of it.

Re: Your thoughts on specific types of vibrators.

Thank you both for your replies. Since my last post, I have tried once every day to masturbate, but get nothing but soreness. I think it's best I lay off, because it's psycologically having a negative effect on me. As for sex with my husband, it is definitely happening more often, but he's still boring. I have tried to initiate other things to bring a little variety into our lovemaking, but it's still the same old regiment that it's always been (yawwwwn). Masturbation was my only way of getting what I need, and now it seems that even that's not happening either. I've only been at this for about a month now, and I hate to think that I've gotten all I'm gonna get out of it.

Yes, definitely lay off and do it when you feel like it. It should be fun, not a chore. Again I would suggest getting the Keesling book--will help you find your groove.
