Testosterone cream users

After many years of searching I finally found a Dr to listen to me and to test my hormone levels and prescribed a compounded testosterone cream. While I don't want to get into my actual levels (because everyone reacts differently to different levels), I would like to know what other people's experiences have been while on it. I don't want to start a debate on whether or not women should use it or whether or not it is a valid treatment for low libido because my decision has already been made. I just want information from people who have been on it or are on it.
Did it work?
How long did it take to notice a difference?
What side effects did you have? weight gain, facial hair, increased or decreased energy, voice changes, mood changes ect.
Where and when did you apply it?
Any advice pertaining to the use of the cream?
Do you plan on stopping it or have you stopped using it and why?
TIA
BB1

Re: Testosterone cream users

You’ve probably read some of my posts and seen this information before, but I’ll take a min and post again.

quote:

Did it work?
How long did it take to notice a difference?
What side effects did you have? weight gain, facial hair, increased or decreased energy, voice changes, mood changes ect.
Where and when did you apply it?
Any advice pertaining to the use of the cream?
Do you plan on stopping it or have you stopped using it and why?

Did it work?
Yes - much improved libido, mood (fewer tears in general - more resiliant - less "depression") arousal and lubrication. Sensation is still improving greatly - orgasm and satisfaction is much improved. Energy doesn’t seem much effected - alas!
---

How long did it take to notice a difference?
Our response was quite slow in comparison to some other anecdotal stories I’ve heard. We didn’t see a thing, or at least anything we noticed, for at least three months. We’ve been using it for more than seven months – at least the current round. We started using a sublingual drop and troche and were not impressed with those methods. We are still seeing positive improvements – more than seven months on the current treatment round. I fully expect changes to continue for months to come – but obviously we’ll see. (Andy Guay suggests that, from what he’s seen in his practice, it may take as long as 18 months.)
---

What side effects did you have? weight gain, facial hair, increased or decreased energy, voice changes, mood changes ect.
(Positive effects are listed above, but “less desirableâ€
Please have your email address listed in your profile. Censorship here is rampant, thus I'd often rather email you.
Also note, I am *not* a doctor, and this is not intended as medical advice.

Re: Testosterone cream users

I am on 2% T cream, but not for libido. I am a 31 year-old, perimenopausal female and am taking it largely for bone mass issues related to menopause. That said, I have seen some effects:
Did it work?
For bone mass, I am not sure. That'll take a long time to monitor. For libido, however, there's been something of a change. Long story, but suffice it to say my husband and I can't have a sexual relationship for a variety of reasons that stem from a medical issue on his part. Due to some therapy abuse while seeking answers for some of these issues, I was also having some sexual problems. Since being on T, I notice I get less "distracted" when we do have intimate time together. Before, I'd start having flashbacks of therapy abuse, or just think about dinner or something while he was kissing me. I didn't even like kissing anymore, and he was a great kisser. Since being on T, I actually enjoy that kind of thing again and stay focused on it. My mind doesn't wander. I don't get "horny" or anything, but I suspect a lot of that is still mental for me (and since we can't have a sexual relationship, it isn't a bad thing).

How long did it take to notice a difference?
Probably close to 2 months. I've been on it about 3 months now.
What side effects did you have? weight gain, facial hair, increased or decreased energy, voice changes, mood changes ect.
No weight gain, though I am having a hard time dropping weight now. I don't believe that is related to the T, however. Until recently, when I began having fatigue issues do to something else, my mood had improved. Because I am also on a phytoestrogen diet for perimenopausal symptoms, I am not 100% sure this was caused by T, though it could have been. I did have some additional hair growth on my inner thighs, but that seems to have stopped increasing since I no longer apply the cream there. Other than that, no additional side effects.
Where and when did you apply it?
I was applying every other day, alternating abdomen and inner thighs. I am now down to twice a week, and abdomen & wrists. THe inner thighs were getting ingrown hairs from the cream.
Any advice pertaining to the use of the cream?
Make sure you don't wash the area for several hours. Let it dry before putting clothing over the area. Keep the area you applied it to away from children (i.e. don't let a baby handle it or mouth it).
Do you plan on stopping it or have you stopped using it and why?
As far as I know, I'll be on it long-term.
