Re: Sexual desire and the pill

There are extreme differences in the pill, and IUD's. I have tried both for 13 years now, and I can say while during years of pill use, my drive was NOT there at all, and it made me less lubricated, and numerous other things, and with the IUD, all I thought about was sex, and having it, and wanting more, which made my hubby happy! LOL My husband noticed a huge difference in my drive, lubrication, orgasm ability and time it took to have one, etc. There are huge huge huge differences.

Re: Sexual desire and the pill

That's great, Princess. For me the pill has never caused any negative effects, only positive ones. Anecdotal evidence is just that. Well-controlled studies are necessary to prove something objectively.

Re: Sexual desire and the pill

"Nulliparous women showed a greater decrease in sexual desire in relation to women who had already given birth (OR 1.57; 95% CI 1.00-2.47)"<P>That's pretty interesting to note, anybody have any thoughts as to why?

Re: Sexual desire and the pill

All I can sat is, I was on the pill before kids and inbetween them, and after them, and my problems only occurred while I was on the pill, when I was pregnant I never suffered from any of the symptoms, and when I had the IUD none of the symptoms, so there is no way they dont effect a person.<BR>Maybe some people are not effected by the extra hormones in the pill because their levels are naturally lower to begin with, who knows everyone is different, but for the study to say it has no effect is weird when everyone I know who has taken the pill has had the same issues as me. Just my thoughts! LOL
