Ive had this problem for 30 years, since I was 15. Recently I've had some tests done to see if anything physical was amiss. They tested my blood, pserm and did a prostate scan by passing a camera up my back passage.

Basically everythig is normal, but they did say there was evidense of a previous inflamation. Could this be a link to Crabs post? (an inflamation of what I dont know)

Also my sperm count was fine, but the quality of the sperm was weak; so I would have problems having children (not a problem for me)

Is Gaba + others a false cure? Alan seems to be helped very well by it and 2 others seem to have improved their condition.

To be honest I think its far from pointless to know what people are trying and to what extent they are being helped by there attempts

I went to see the consultant today after blood, sperm and post-ejaculatory urine test and also the prostate scan. Mostly those tests showed no abnormalities, but there were a few things to comment on.

Blood test was fine. Urine test too. The urine test was to see if there was any sperm in the urine. There wasn't.

There was normal amount of sperm in my ejaculate; but the sperm was of poor quality. If I was bothered about having children this would be a problem; however I'm not. The consultant says this doesn't affect AE. (Of course that doesn't mean I think it might not be relivent, hense I'm mentioning it here)

Scan was mostly fine but he said there was a sign of previous inflamation. For the most part it was normal though.

There are no cysts.

He has put me on 10mg of Yohimbine, to be taken every 2 days. I have another appointment in 2 monts to see how things are going.
I know some people here dont rate these tablets, but Ill give them a go. I'll report to the forum how things are going.

Hi all, Ive been looking at the posts in the forum with great interest; especially regarding the Gaba medication.

I'm just wondering, I'm 45 years old and have suffered with this since I was 15. Something else Ive had since almost that time is the need to go the the loo more than most people. Its not really a problem, but Im wondering how many other poster to this forum have this? If so, we can look at overactive bladder syndrome. (I'll be looking into it anyway)

Also I'm awaiting results of tests at mo, I have had my blood, sperm and had a scan of my prostate. I havent had feedback yet from the hospital but I'll let you know what happens.

I haven't posted much but am a long term sufferer (30 years) and just to let you know where I am.

I've had some tests and awaiting results. I had a sperm and blood test, and today had a scan of my
prosate via a scan thriough my back passage. I bet they'll all say all is normal though.

A letter to my doctor said the tests were to exclude retrograde ejaculation and organic causes; and if they can be ruled out to try me on Yohimbine.

Has anyone else tried this? Is is similar to Yohimbe?

Hi, Ive been looking at this forum every day too. I would have posted but I dont really have anything to add to help the discussion.

I relate very much to the 'flat mood' people have spoken about, and often wonder if Im slightly depressed. I dont find life unpleasent though, althogh haveing EA isnt nice.

I've tried relaxing my PC muscle while jerking off but I dont seem able to. It probably helps to try and kind of 'feel' the physical sensations, get in ttouch with your own body etc.

I'm starting with CHoline Inositol to see if that helps at all.

Um yes Needhelp, Ive have and have had a sinus problem for ages; certainly since I got my EA problem, 30 years ago.

The sinus problem isnt really a problem of itself though, it just gets blocked up now and then.

I have seen a Urologyst recently but he suggested it was pshychological. Im not ruling that out, but I'd really like the physical side to be examined; like EDO.

He has refered me to an Andrologyst which will take a few months to come through.

Of the definitions or our problems, (Sexaul Anhedonia, Ejaculatory Anhedonia, Partial ejaculatory Incompetence) is seems to me that 'Partial ejaculatory Incompetence' comes closest to describing my condition.

When I ejaculate it does indeed feel as though the process is incomplete. The link below is a very apt description:

I haven't tried midtodine though, as it can affect blood presure. Needhelp has though and said it helped, but can't have cured completely.

I feel a slight confusion too. In my case I know I ejaculate cos in us males we can see it. I know I don't orgasm because I know what it feels like from when I didn't have a problem. Its unmistakable. I was going to suggest to the poster that wasn't sure whether he'd had an orgasm or not that he hadn't; you'd know if you had.

To me the orgasm is the feeling; or sensation. I am sightly confused, SickandTired when you say you know you,ve had an orgasm when you havent had the sensation (or barely had the sensation) because to me the sensation is the orgasm.

I wonder also when posters say theyve had a 1 out of 10 orgasm because to me anything would be nice. I feel a build up; which is pleasurable but to me its supposed to break through to the orgasm but in me it never does

I'm not sure Im with you. I'm otherwise healthy, and have often masturbated without trying to orgasm, or expect orgasm; as it still gives relief of a kind. And of course I get no orgasm.

Been doing that for about 2 weeks; I think Ive noticed a slight changed but nothing that cant be put down to the placebo effect. Guess it takes a while.

Not tired at all unless I was tired before, ejaculation makes no difference.

Still horny? Thats difficult to explain. It kind of is a physical relief of a kind, like a relief of physical tension; but its not complete. Like a partial relief; but to be honest I am still horney after most of the time.

I feel I should elaberate on my leakage status. Although I dont think I have always leaked, I have always needed to go to the toilet more than most people. That does go back all the way since my problem started (30 years ago)

I once suggested to a doctor that I might have a prostate problem because or this, but he assured me I was too young for that.

Well I do leak, but I havent always.

Ive had EA for 30 years but I certainly haven't leaked for 30 years, though as Ive got older I've tended too. But I dont think I did when I was 15 when I first got it.

Just that I found a website that showed a trial involving men with Partial Ejaculatory Incompetence, that had claimed some success with it.

Ive been watching this forum discussion for a few months as I have this problem too. When I was 15 I mastabated ok and got good orgasms, but one day I ejaculated ok but there was no orgasm. Just a feeling of relief from a kind of pressure that had built up; nothing like an orgasm at all.
When I jerk off after that, or have sex, I get the same experience.

I'm 45 now so Ive had this condition for 30 years, except for 2 times when it relapsed; which were both over 20 years ago.

I remember when it first happened, it was quite shocking. It was like someone flipped a switch to 'off'

I have never done drugs,don't smoke and have had no operation or had anything happen which would indicate a physical cause.

I was very interested when I saw Needhelps visit to the urologist who said he cured almost 4 out of 5 people with the condition; and that they all had EDO.

It prompted me to go to a clinic and mention the possibility. THe Doctor was skeptical however, and thinks I should see a psycho sexual councillor. He did say, howeverm that if I was correct about me having EDO, that my sperm count will be low. So a way to start would be to test my ejaculate for that.

He referred me to my GP, who has referred me to a urolgist. The sperm count test will be done by the urologist. Won't happen for about 8 weeks though.
