Black cohosh

I am 60 yrs young....and I swear by black cohosh HOWEVER you must exercise regularly....I have NEVER had hot flashes but the only reason I took black cohosh was to help with the vaginal dryness and also possibly low sex drive. Well I don't have hot flashes, I don't have vaginal dryness and I DON'T have low sex drive. I love sex...want sex but I just cannot achieve an orgasam....takes me way too long....so now I am in the search for something to help that...however unsuccessful. But just remember....exercise and black cohosh DO MIX!!! I have been taking it for 10 yrs. and I am a power-walker...been doing that for 22 yrs. Hope this helps.

Re: Black cohosh

Failure to achieve an orgasm can be very frustrating. First check the medications you are taking. Drugs that interfere with norepinephrine can prevent an orgasm from happening. Examples of medications that interfere with female sexual function are antihypertensives, antidepressives and anticholinergics. Also, a history of trauma or abuse can be difficult to overcome. Some women have vaginal dryness that makes orgasm more difficult to achieve. For vaginal dryness, there is a great nonhormonal treatment that is effective if you use it daily for one week and 2-3 times weekly after that. There is a coupon for Replens on www.redhotmamas.org website for this product.
Medications that also help are estrogen and testosterone, either taken together or separately. Other medicines such as L-Arginine, ArginMax and Xzite have been suggested but are not approved. Some side effects such as nausea can occur. L-Arginine might cause changes in the skin and muscles or diarrhea. Medical devices to help with orgasm include Vacuum Therapy such as the Eros-Clitoral Therapy Device and Slightest Touch, a battery operated device without a prescription. Vielle is widely available device designed to be worn on the fingers and used with a special lubricant. Talk to your doctor about other options or the best one for you.
Hope this helps.
