What causes the confusion and forgetfulness?

Hi, I'm a new user of this site. I went through most everything I could see but didn't see anything on this subject. When you are so confused and don't know which way to go and forget what you just walked into the room for, what causes this? Is it lack of estrogen or progestin or is it too much of either one. I'm through menopause, my gyn says that I shouldn't be having any symptoms and put me on antidepressants, Wellbutrin to be exact, but I still go through all the ups and downs and comfusion. Any ideas??????
------------------
Re: What causes the confusion and forgetfulness?

You did not tell me if you are having sleep problems. Some women who experience these symptoms may simply be sleep deprived, some might be depressed, or having some early signs of cognitive impairment. First, you should work on getting a good nights sleep, and see if that helps first. Wellbutrin is usually a good choice in medications because it does help with sleep and mild depression. If you do not feel better in a few weeks/months, you should discuss with your health care provider the possibility that he/she needs to adjust dose or consider other treatments and conduct further evaluations. Sometimes physicians put their patients on a trial of estrogen for a month or two. I also recommend you see a neurologist to exclude other types of problems. Hope this helps.

[Note: This message has been edited by NEWSHE Moderator]
