Re: Itching

Hi, Did your Dr. put you on any new medication for menopausal symptoms? You may be allergic to that . Have you asked your Dr. or a dermatologist about the itching . They may something different you can take

Re: Itching

So our bodies just generally get more sensitive to everything as we mature? I had a similar problem for a few years. Mine also included vaginal itching, which turned out to be a separate problem. I went to the best dertmatologist, allergist and internist. I applied topicals, took oral meds, bathed in high ray saunas -- but continued to itch myself raw. I scratched so much I caused 2nd degree infections and scaring. I was fortunate enough to find an MD who practices holistic heath. He tested my BLOOD for allergies. This is a different test than the skin pricks commonly used. It finds food to which your blood is allergic and which causes a delayed reaction. The delayed reaction is what makes identifying the food so hard to isolate. I have activated EMail Notification. Let me know if you want the test name, etc. P.S. After years of itching, I discovered that benedryl at night allowed me to get a good night sleep, in that it relieved the itching.
