You are at the typical age when perimenopause begins which is somewhere in your forties. Periods may become erratic happening at day 24 or 25 and they may be different in flow consistency. Some wome have shorter cycles, may skip periods. Any irregularites should be reported to your gynecologist. What's probably going on is that the hormone balance in your body is shifting and is creating changes in your menstrul flow and may also be creating other disconcerting effects as a result of perimenopause. Some women say there is an increase in mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep problems begin. Other symptoms may be weight gain; skin changes; vaginal dryness; forgetfulness;headaches and the list goes on. Not all women experience symptoms. You should discuss any changes - physical or emotional with your gynecologist. And, certainly discuss, where you are in the process.
