High Risk Breast Cancer/Peri-menapause

I'm new to this board and I'm having a tough time finding information on being high risk for breast cancer and at 46, just starting to have irregular periods. What should I and shouldn't I begin to do and think about and take or not take? I need an expert doctor in Atlanta to go see about this.

Thanks!

Re: High Risk Breast Cancer/Peri-menapause

Hi LDavila! On the Red Hot Mamas website, there are several sections on breast health for peri-post menopause. Breast health is an important topic at this time in our lives. It is often overlooked until something irregular is noticed. There are many benign breast changes that occur and are important to understand. Here is some specific information:

Breast Health at Menopause- http://www.redhotmamas.org/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=119&Itemid=187

Breast Cancer-

Mammograms-

And, many more (including the new, updated breast cancer screening guidelines for 2007) in our newsletter, The Menopause Minute-

Hope these are a good start for you. Are you starting to have symptoms of menopause? Is this why you are concerned with "what to take and what not to take"?
