HPV

Hi again Dr. Goldstein,
I had mentioned that I had VVS already. (pain on contact for over 20 years) I had a biopsy of the bartholin gland area and it showed evidence of HPV. (condylomas)In your experience, would this prevent a successful vestibulectomy procedure? There is certainly some controversy as to whether HPV can cause VV or is just a coincident finding. Treating the HPV infection usually does not cure the VVS.
Thanks!
Toby
Re: HPV

HPV should not affect the success of vestibulectomy. Any active warts should be treated prior to surgery.

quote:
Originally posted by Toby:
Hi again Dr. Goldstein,
I had mentioned that I had VVS already.
