Need advice/help. Vestibulitis

To make a very long story shorter, I have been diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, IBS, and Vestibulitis. I have seen several different OB-GYNs (14) since I was 16, because it took for ever to figure out what was wrong. Now I have had several docs suggest that the only treatment I have left is a vestibulectomy due to the constant burning from 3-9 o'clock. I have tried all the creams and hygiene everything. I have an Interstim implant. What my concern that I cannot seem to get through is that the burning is not only in the vestibule, but the labia majora and minora also. I have only read about bio feedback for pelvic floor dysfunction, but have not met a doctor that does any thing with it. What type of pain and disorders is it good for? I need help and am feeling very frustrated and helpless. I can't seem to get any where.
------------------
Al

I don't know anyone in your area, but if you want physiotherapy, you should be looking for a pelvic floor physiotherapist, not a doctor.

Re: Need advice/help. Vestibulitis

Al, pelvic floor physical therapy concentrates on the musculoskeletal system and neuromuscular. Yes we evaluate the pelvic muscles (intra-vaginal or rectally), but much more. Many of the women who are seen have diagnoses like yourself. The PT helps when there is that muscular component of pelvic floor dysfunction. We work on normalizing the tone of the muscles (via manual therapy as well as biofeedback). We mobilize the tissue around the vestibule and perineum. The much more is we look and help correct posture and pelvic asymmetries and help you use your muscles more properly. There are many PTs now specilizing in pelvic floor dysfunction.

You can search the IC websites and NVA sites for PTs as well as the womenshealthapta.org and look for PT locator (i think under consumer link)...
hope this helps!!
