TOPIC: Discharge with VV?

4 years, 4 months ago #21856

Discharge with VV?

Does anyone here diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis get a strange discharge too? Mine's (sorry to be so descriptive) yellowish to even slightly greenish at times, but mostly just very thick. It's not constant either, some days I have it but mostly I don't. I've complained of this to doctors before, and they took cultures which found nothing out of the ordianary (eg. yeast infection or bacterial infection). I know there are Bartho-something glands arounf the vestibule (or ARE the vestibule?) which are involved with lubrication. Could VV and this discharge be connected?

Re: Discharge with VV?

yellow sticky discharge can be desquamative inflammatory vaginitis and can give a secondary vestibulitis.

Re: Discharge with VV?

I have a discharge every single freakin' day. Its so bad that I often have to changed my undies. It is the exact same as yours. I've had many the cultures as well and no infections and no cure.

Re: Discharge with VV?

I have the same problem. I have to carry extra undies in the side pocket of my purse.

My cultures come back normal, though. I used to wear tampons sometimes (if I knew I wouldn't be somewhere I could change undies) but then my Dr. told me that it isn't healthy doing that, so I quit that habit.

It sometimes comes out in blobs. It's annoying.

Re: Discharge with VV?

Me too. Lots of it. I have been to gynos who have said, "Yes, you have a lot of discharge" but couldn't come up with a reason why. Every culture always comes back negative. But I do finally have a diagnosis for VV, so I was wondering if the discharge could be related to that. Mine isn't yellow green. It's clear-white and clumpy. I have to run to the bathroom when very large discharge amounts hit. Occasionally, if there is not a bathroom nearby, I sometimes wind up looking like I wet my pant--it's that much discharge.

Re: Discharge with VV?

I also have vestibulitis and the same discharge issue. Yellow/yellow green. Whether I have a yeast infection or not. Not a ton, but it's constant. THe doctor did a culture and said I had a few atrophic cells and not many White blood cells, so if I have desquamative inflammatory vaginitis it's a mild case. They have me on a standard intial vestibulitis treatment program for 3 months--lidocaine, estrogen/testosterone cream for thin skin/tissue, no BCPs, and PT for tight muscles. The they will do another culture sample again in 3 months and treat the DIV if it still looks like it's a possible factor.

Re: Discharge with VV?

OMG...For the longest time I thought I was the only woman out there with the nasty thick yellowish/greening discharge. My Dr's have done cultures too and they always come back negative. Thank God for this forum! I thought I was crazy.
