Dr Goldstein-How B glands blockage is diagnosed/ what el

For 9 months now, I don’t get lubricated for quite a long time during arousal as well as the arousal is very painful (starts from a tingling sensation and becomes full blown pain). Then if I finally get some lubrication (but only my own, not from the lubricants), the pain subsides. I searched this forum and it seems that one of the causes could be a blocked Bartholin gland.
The gynecologist who examined me today said that she does not feel any gland blockage based on the manual exam she performed and the vaginal ultrasound did not show any abnormalities.

Question 1. - Is it possible that there is just minor B gland blockage which does not result in anything that can be felt during the exam and no abnormalities are showing on the ultrasound?
I personally see something, but only in the magnifying mirror: it's a smallish bump on the left side only around 1mm in size(my understanding is the cyst should be 0.4-1.2 in size) in the area where Bartholin gland is supposed to be, but of course, it could be something totally different.

Question 2. - What else can cause lack of lubrication and pain during arousal?

I'm not a doctor but...I've had a few blockages before. The first time, I had no clue what was going on and went to the ER. It was painful and made it hard to walk. After sitting and waiting for hours, literally...long story short, it burst on its own. Gross yes but once it did, not pain. I cleaned up and no problems after.

The next time it happened I sort of just 'waited it out.'

After the third time I did more research and found out it was a blocked Bartholin's gland.

It is possible you have small blockage causing dryness and discomfort. The body is pretty good and cleaning everything out but these blockages can occur. If they are too deep...they can be cysts-which either clear up on their own or require simple surgery according to my research.

Dryness can also be the only cause of discomfort...caused by dehydration.

Hope some of this helps. At least maybe it can give you a good start to more research.

The pain..if it's a deep ache or internal burning sensation...I'm looking for insight into that myself. I've seen some speculations on another post/forum...I've been thinking it's linked to herpes. (Herpes is a nerve based virus in the same family as chicken pox and shingles. I'll spare you the long drawn out "lesson" about it as it's only speculation. Good luck?)

Blocked Bartholin's glands can be the source of pain and decreased lubrication. One way to find out it to have a skilled physician insert a very small metal tool called a lacrimal probe into the duct and open it to see if that solves the problem.
