My specialist diagnosed me with pelvic floor tension myalgia and sent me to PT. I believe that I have vulvar vestibulitis, as I have all the symptoms exactly! I am not sure what PFTM is and what the symptoms are, but I am not sure I have it. I don't feel any tension in the pelvic floor and the PT did biofeedback and said that my contractions/relaxations were better than most patients she sees. Does this rule out the tension myalgia?

Is it possible to have tension myalgia as a cause for VVS?

Was an internal peliv muscle examination performed by the PT or only biofeedback? If there was not, you need one; if there was, was there tenderness when the muscles were touched?

I had biofeedback and then also something where the person put their hand under my tailbone and gently adjusted things (I had no idea what she was doing). Is there a way I can check for myself to see if I have tenderness (where would the tenderness be?). I am almost 100% positive that this is not my problem.

The pelvic muscles, when touched, during an internal (vag or rectal) muscle examination may feel tender, painful, or refer pain. There may also be musculoskeletal restrictions and tenderness throughout the pelvic girdle including hips, buttocks and low back.
