Pelvic and Back Pain 9-months after Prolapse Surgery
On December 24, 2002, I had prolapse surgery for the uterus, bladder, and rectum. The surgeon removed the uterus, left the ovaries, and tacked everything back up. Since this surgery, long story short, I have been unable to sit in firm chairs, walk any distance (as simple as grocery shopping), stand for any length of time, have sex, or lift anything over 5 pounds.

On July 1, 2003, my GYN did exploratory surgery to see if she could determine what my problem was and found my left ovary was attacked to my bowels and my left fallopian tube was suction cupped onto my vagina.

Since the exploratory surgery I have gotten better. I now can walk better and stand longer. However, I still have problems sitting in firm chairs and I still cannot have sex because it is too painful. Also, I have chronic lower back pain that flared up about the end of April that won't go away.

The doctors are dumbfounded by what is going on with me. I can't find anyone with answers and they all give up on me after a while because they can't figure it out.

I have been on disability for 9-months now. My GYN says she thinks the problem is that when the surgeon tacked up the vagina it caused everything to be in tension. She thinks that because the scare tissue won't give that it pulls on the pelvic muscle. However, even she doesn't know what is really wrong or what to do about it.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me. I'm so frustrated.
------------------
Need Answers
[This message has been edited by lsfuqua (edited 19 September 2003).]
