Discharge

HI all new here. My problem is kind of disgusting to talk about but it seems my gp and gyno think it's not a big deal. I have had a white discharge since I was in 5 th grade. I am now 25 years old. My gp says it's normal, my gyno said it is non-specific vaginosis and gave me flagyl which did not help. Do I have a STD that no one will tell me about? Is this normal? It's there all the time. Please help!! :O

Re: Discharge

A white or clear daily discharge is perfectly normal, so long as it isn't smelly. It's you're body's way of cleansing itself. Most women have this, it's no big deal. Many women use pantyliners for this, so that their underwear don't become wet or a bit discolored over time (it's actually what pantyliners were invented for). So, unless it's really, really thick and/or yellow or brown and/or faily smelly, it doesn't indicate any kind of infection or STD.
