ovary pain

I am having pain in my left ovary when I ovulate, but it happens every month to the same side. Is there something wrong that I might be only getting pain in this one or am I only ovulating from the left.

Re: ovary pain

I have the same issue, I have never feet ovulation on the right side only left. Some months I dont feel it at all. Unless you have other issues or problems, I was told by my doctor it is normal. Not everyone feels it when they ovulate, sometimes my pain is so intense, it knocks my breath out, other months I dont feel it. Some people have never felt the pain at all when they ovulate. My mom for instance, has never felt anything when she ovulates. Unless you have other medical problems, I wouldn't worry about it. Next time you go to the GYN for your yearly checkup ask him about it, or if it really really worries you, call them.

Re: ovary pain

I had pain only on my left side and was found to have endometreosis (sp?) only on that side during an elected TAH for chronic pelvic pain and painful periods. I had tried nearly every type of birth control to help and even used my birth control to not have a period. Nothing worked and I was done having children so I elected for a TAH. If you are on birth control you will not ovulate. So if it is painful ovulation and you are not trying to get pregnant you might try birth control pills or the patch. Just an FYI I finally had to find another DR to take my pain seriously. Hope this helped.<BR>Stacey
