Dr Goldstein - how do you know when the surgery didn't
Hi there Dr (and anyone with an opinion)
I had a vestibulectomy almost 3 months ago. I have started having sex again. My dr said I had post HPV pain in the anterior vestibule and that he thinks the surgery will work. My pathology report said that all signs of infection were removed.
BUT - I'm still sore. I have noticed that after sex I have a lot of pain in the areas between the labia minora (and sometimes some tiny cuts or sores). This lasts for about a day. Is this normal post surgery? I never had visible sores prior to surgery but the pain feels about the same.
I have read so many posts where people say it takes 4 - 6 months to heal, but is it normal to still be this sore so long after the surgery? At what point can one say it is likely that the surgery did not help?
I would appreciate anyone's opinion, especially yours, Dr Goldstein
