No Problem Moderator, I reposted it- just see that I get an answer haha
I read this abstract online and as I am considering botox for pfd it was my understanding that the pain at the vestibule due to pfd would probably be alleviated with botox. However, after reading this abstract I was rather disheartened to find out that this may not be the case. So I wanted to ask Dr Goldstein if he could please tell me the results of using botox on women that present with pfd/vestibule pain and if these womens experienced relief with the surface pain as well as the muscular tightness with botox?
thanks much!

Conclusion. BTX/A injections may be effective in reducing coital pain in vestibulodynia with levator ani tenderness, but has little effect on vestibular allodynia. The relationship between pelvic floor hypertonicity and decreased coital pain suggests vestibulodynia may be a variant of Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. Dose and volume of BTX/A injected may be related to degree of relief.
