I have had an ongoing matter since 2008. Once in 2008 I had a orgasm and I bled from under the hood just after. Didn't think nothing of it. Had some discomfort over the months but only after lots of irritation, whether maxi-pads, sex, etc.
In April of 2009 I ended up swelling so bad that the hood looked to have had an abcess. Was put on antibiotics. It came back, not as bad as the first time. Dr is stumped, I am stumped. Two Dr's looked thought they saw an ulcer, did a swab, still waiting for results. What can this be? I have googled and googled and can't find anything. This is interfering with my being able to take my child outside and run around, It is complicating my sex life with my husband. Any info would be of help. Any ideas?

hellomommy, I am surprised that your doctors have not found a cause for the swelling. Are you seeing a GYN? Without an exam a diagnoses cannot be made on line. When you hear back from the swab results please give us a follow-up.

Hi - I have been seeing my obgyn regarding this issue. Obgyn is the one who did the swab and I am still waiting for it to come back. I go back on Monday and hope to have some answers. I am not on a cream to help stop the pain nerves from reacting but the question still remains What is causing this? I have to wait and see what Monday brings and as for if I will have to find a Vulvar disorder obgyn and I am not thrilled about that as I am comfortable with my obgyn and don't feel comfy having another dr poke and prod. This is to the point of embarassment as I have never had any female issues until after my cold knife cone.

Stick with your Obgyn.After you get the results of the swab your doctor can determine what needs to be done, Good luck to you on Monday.

Ok. So obyn says that he is confident it is a ingrown hair, How they happen there is very rare. Swab came back normal - 100% normal. Rules out Std's of any sort. I go back in 2 weeks. have to use this cream. I asked what if it comes back (as he has) he said we will get here when we get there. It appears to be healing and it is just going to take time for the infection to go away

We are glad you got treatment from your ob/gyn.Ingrown hairs happen yours was in an unusual place. Glad you are doing better.

have to hope that is what it is. Yes Dr says that is what it is. This thing has come back the 2nd time. have to keep my fingers crossed. this is now ongoing back and for for 3weeks.
